Modern Courtyard Garden with Illuminated Planting

A modern courtyard pairs pale paving, a timber corner bench and stepping stones with lush planting, clipped shrubs and warm evening lighting.

Pale paving wraps around geometric planting beds, with dark stepping stones leading toward an L-shaped timber bench and low rectangular table. White agapanthus, clipped shrubs, olive trees and broad tropical foliage soften the straight lines, while warm lighting highlights the planting and horizontal timber fencing.

Combine agapanthus, boxwood, olive trees and bird of paradise with large paving slabs, dark stone stepping pads and timber seating. Leave generous planting pockets around the trees, and position low lights beneath foliage to illuminate the borders without shining into seated guests’ eyes.
